"Analysis of the effects of disturbances on the structure and functioning of marine food webs: modeling approach"

Main scientific interests :
- complexity-stability relationships in food webs
- links between structure and functioning of food webs
- influence of disturbances (e.g. fisheries, eutrophisation, alien species) on food webs

Tools :
- graph theory, random graph : to randomly construct food web models with realistic structure (for example, see Williams & Martinez, 2000)
- ODE's : to model food web dynamics across time and take into account disturbances
- dynamic system theory and generalized modelling (Gross & Feudel, 2006) : to study food web functioning (e.g. "stability", variability, extinctions)
- multivariate analysis : to obtain statistical results across thousands of food web models
